Joy Dutta

Joy Dutta (he/him) is a maker/tinkerer for life. He worked in software development/architecture for nearly two decades in the SF Bay Area while teaching himself hands-on operation of tools and machinery. Dutta worked with wood for many years before settling with steel as his primary medium. He has been selling metal sculptures since 2020 and a full time metal artist since 2025. His primary focus is on abstract geometric sculptures that reflect nature and life. He has a Masters in Computer Science by education but the appreciation for sculpture and visual arts stemmed from schooling in Rabindranath Tagore’s ashram in Santiniketan, India. He is constantly developing his portfolio and experience in building large scale public artwork.
