Liberty Blake
Born in England in 1968, the daughter of two artists, Liberty Blake’s (she/her) unconventional upbringing and education formed the foundation of her love for art, outdoor adventure, and the natural world. Blake studied at Bath Academy of Art before immigrating to America in 1997. A painter and abstract collage artist, her work explores themes of the natural world and the human condition, with an emphasis on environmental issues. Her work is included in both the state and county art collections. Liberty is also the collage artist for the collaborative ‘Work in Progress Mural Project,’ a one-hundred-foot-long collaged mural, comprised of stencil portraits of women made by members of the community in workshops that she runs with her mother and fellow artist, Jann Haworth. Work in Progress panels have been commissioned by The National Portrait Gallery in London, The World Economic Forum, and TED Women.
